Food, Land & People Virtual Internet Course

Fact Sheet on Food, Land & Peole's Resources for Learning

Food, Land & People's interdisciplinary curriculum, Resources for Learning, currently serves Pre-K to 12th grade students throughout the United States. This supplementary curriculum consists of 55 hands-on lesssons, with 20 currently translated into Spanish. The lessons are objective in content and promote the development of critical thinking skill s so that students can better understand the interrelationships among agriculture, the environment and people of the world.

Evaluation

Resources for Learning has deomonstrated its effectiveness through pilot and field-testing. Over 4,000 students in grades two through nine and 200 teachers participated in a field test of the curriculum during the 1996-97 school year, in California, Connecticut, and Ohio. In addition, more than 1,000 professionals (teachers, scientists, farmers, and convservationists among others) reviewed the materials for technical accuracy and balance in presentation.
